Randburg

Randburg is an area located in the northwest of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Established in 1959, there are now thirty-two suburbs nestled in the affluent area. Although predominantly residential, Randburg also shines as an area rich in commercial properties. Known best as a 'young and fast-growing' hub, the area is central and offers buyers lower property prices, more affordable rental rates, and larger properties. With easy access to a plethora of shopping malls, restaurants, businesses, and tourist destinations, Randburg has become a home to many businesses and households. History of the Area

Beginning as a low-density residential area, most of the inhabitants comprised of an Afrikaans-speaking population. 1956 brought with it a boom in industrial and commercial development and soon after retail developments began to populate the area. Garnering its name from the South African Rand that was introduced at the same time, Randburg came into its own in 1959 and has been home to 32 bustling suburbs ever since.
