Blackheath is a suburb in Randburg, situated North-West of the Johannesburg CBD with surrounding areas, Linden, Darrenwood, Windsor, and Emmerentia. Situated not far from the top of Northcliff Hill, Blackheath is an area surrounded by foliage-full suburbs and is relatively tranquil when it comes to atmosphere and aesthetics.

Blackheath, your typical Northern suburb in Johannesburg, offers many activities and attractions. On the weekends, you may find yourself consumed by the greenery and bright bursts of bold and beautiful colour at the popular, yet understated, Johannesburg Botanic Garden. The garden boasts 7 different garden districts, each with its own theme; Herbs, Hedges, Succulents, Roses, Arbor, The Chapel Garden, (often used for event photography), and The Shakespeare Garden, and entire garden featuring herbs that featured in the playwright's work.

In the middle of all this is Emmerentia Dam, a popular picnic spot on the weekends, or a great place to take in the fresh air on a run, bike ride, or walk with the dog. Spanning over 7 hectares, Emmerentia Dam is ideal for minor water sports, and is full of feathery life. If you're looking to sit back, relax, and enjoy a little lunch, there is a café that serves light meals all day, and conveniently so, provides pre-packed picnic baskets. Those into something a little more energetic might find themselves at the Randpark Golf Course.

Outside of all this outdoor opportunity, Blackheath and its surroundings are predominantly residential. Within proximity to Beyers Naude, one of our cities major transport routes, and one of the busier areas for retail therapy, is abundantly lined with shopping malls, where you may find yourself at the biggest of these, Cresta Shopping Centre. If you're in the mood for travel, a lot closer to home than OR Tambo International, is Lanseria Airport, a mere 28km from the Northwest, and if you're travelling Johannesburg and surrounds, access to the Gautrain via the Gautrain bus is provided.

Amenities such as schools, medical facilities, and hotels, are plentiful within the surrounding suburbs, not too far from the area; Northcliff High School and Abbots College and Cresta Medi Centre can be found on the outskirts.
