Plumari Cares
Generosity, service, conservation and upliftment is something that has been instilled from the very beginning and will continuously be made a priority. The Plumari Group has always had a strong social conscience and to that end, we are completely committed to environmental sustainability and social upliftment.
Plumari Private Reserve
Home to up to 20 different species of large game, including the Big Five, the Plumari Private Reserve upholds and builds on the heritage and legacy of the community in Hekpoort, Magaliesberg.
To date we have reinstated the natural habitat of over 6800 hectares and allowed animals to move over the area free and unhindered. We have been the first and only ones to reintroduce elephant, buffalo, white rhinoceros, lion and bush pig to the Magaliesberg since they disappeared from the area 50 to 100 years ago.
Furthermore, we have safeguarded, maintained and reinstated many important historical sites and artefacts related to the 2nd Boer War, in particular the battle of Nooitgedacht, the original native stone age and Tswana community who flourished in the area for thousands of years.
The Plumari Private reserve along with its accompanying businesses on site have also been responsible for the creation of over 200 permanent jobs, and in this way has greatly uplifted the local community
Food Drives
Many people have been brought to their knees by the COVID-19 global
pandemic. As part of its social responsibility commitment, the Plumari Property Group is helping those affected by the pandemic by delivering essential food and sanitary items. We are also dedicated to educating the public on the World Health Organisation’s hygiene protocols.
To date, we have delivered more than 700 buckets to 3 different settlements in our neighboring communities at the Plumari Private Reserve, each containing approximately 20 kg of fresh vegetables, culled and butchered wildebeest, large bags of maize meal and a bar of soap. A list of directions in regional indigenous languages has been included in the buckets on how to effectively practice good hygiene.
We aim to continue our effort and play our part in helping create the space in which our communities can survive and thrive during this difficult and trying time.
Environmental Sustainability
We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment. In addition to the Plumari Reserve, we are working on implementing three large initiatives across all our letting space. We have implemented our first major solar solution and will be rolling this out across our properties, this decreases our carbon footprint and will assist the load on our country’s fragile infrastructure. We have also implemented smart leak detection devices for our centres which aims to prevent water wastage. This has the added benefit of reducing costs for our tenants. We have implemented waste recycling projects at some of our buildings and will be expanding this initiative through the years.
